The Wring Chorulator is a pedal that produces a chorus effect using a modern audio IC, the PT2399, instead of the old BBD chips. The signal is passed through a small delay between 8ms and 25ms that is modulated with an LFO to achieve the chorus effect. As very short delay times are not available with this kind if IC, you’ll find that the Wring Chorulator is everything but subtle!
Besides chorus, the Wring Chorulator is also capable of producing a variety of sounds like pitch bends and ring modulation.
The Wring Chorulator has the following potentiometers:
– The wet/dry switch is an important feature. In the first position the Wet and Dry signals are mixed equally, creating the standard chorus sound. In the second position, only the Wet signal exits the pedal. This allows for more extreme pitchbend flavours.
– The Rate potentiometer varies the speed of the LFO between 1Hz and 10Hz.
– Depth sets how pronounced is the effect
The Wring Chorulator Kit is based on ValveWizard’s Weird Chorus, check his website if you want more info about the project!
