The Distortion Plus Kit is based in the original MXR Distortion+ that’s been around since the 70s. This pedal is perfect for heavy metal because of its crunchy clipping, achieved by two germanium diodes and an OpAmp circuit. The Distortion Plus has been used by many guitarists to get some of the characteristic sounds of bands like Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden or Radiohead.
The Distortion Plus kit is a vintage distortion based in the original MXR Distortion+ that has been around for more than 40 years! It uses an operational amplifier along with two germanium diodes to produce a crunchy clipping perfect for metal. Some guitarist that use or have used it are Randy Rhoads with Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Murray of Iron Maiden and Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
The Distortion Plus has two knobs:
– Output: A main master volume
– Distortion: controls the amount of gain of the pedal
