While it is a modern delay effect pedal, the Echo Delay still keeps the flavour of the old analog ones. It is based on the Deep Blue Delay, and the bandwidth has been adjusted so the result is very similar to the sound produced by old tape echo delays. The first repetition is very clean, and the following ones tend to degrade.
There’s no reduction circuits in the Echo Delay to keep the echo as natural as possible. As the Deep Blue Delay, this pedal works great both in front of the amplifier or in the FX loop of your amp. The direct signal path is totally analog with no filtering.
The Echo Delay has the same potentiometers than the Deep Blue Delay:
– Level, allowing to adjust the level of the delayed signal that will be mixed with your original sound
– Delay sets the delay time of the effect, from 25ms to 450ms
– Repeat controls how many repetitions of the delayed signal will be generated, and ranges from one repetition to infinite feedback (which is also interesting to generate some weird noises!)
The Echo Delay is a great pedal, that combines the tone and warmth of a tape echo with the versatility and ease of use of a digital delay.
