The MXR Envelope Filter is one of the first builds of any DIY hobbyist. Unlike wah pedals, where the filter is controlled by the pedal position, the MXR Envelope Filter is controlled depending on the loudness of your notes. That’s why this kind of effect is known as autowah or envelope filter: when you play a note, the MXR Envelope Filter detects how hard you’ve picked, and then creates the wah effect.
This improved version has a Reverse Switch to change the direction of the filter, as well as an input buffer to avoid any tone and volume loss like it happened in the vintage MXR Envelope Filter. Build the Envelope Filter kit and add some funk to your pedalboard!
